Sandfly Alert

Hope you all enjoyed the Ubin Adventure Camp. Have you discovered any insect bites that do not heal till today? They are most probably caused by sandflies that live in the sand near the lagoon area.

You can easily differentiate between mosquito and sandfly bites - the former tend to be a big red lump and will not develop into ulcers and rashes, whilte the latter appears to be small red patches that itch like crazy and have the tendency to develop into ulcers and rashes.

Here are the steps to help you kill the itch and stop the rash as you accelerate the healing process.

Clean the bite area, apply antibacterial ointment using a cotton bud or with a clean hand.

Cover with a patch of open weave hauze and tape into place.

Repeat Step 1 and 2 twice a day or more until the wounds are no longer infected and starting to heal (remeber to repeat treatment after bathing)
***This can take one week to 10+ days, depending on the severity of the bite.

If you can do this correctly, the sandfly bites will not develop beyond the normalmosquito bite sizes and will heal relatively quickly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not scartch the wound! This will cause bacteria infection, leading to leishmania. You can see how leishmania looks like by clicking here, but please be reminded that the pictures might be somewhat disturbing.

I'm leaving singapore in 2 hours time.. haha

quite envy u guys can go for outing and fac camp together, but nvd, my holiday is also gonna be wonderful =] so enjoy urself!! and I will come back on 17th, june.. then when u guys are free after the block test I'll bring u some nice food!

and sophia! have to say happy birthday in advance! as I'm not very sure if I can log in blogspot in China or not.. haha, happy 18th! and next time u can buy alcoholic drinks for the guys

Ms Ho told me on Friday that the previous ilps on recycling and ice are both not graded, so she'll just write 'seen' on them.

And she also said that our new Chem teacher is gonna be NEW, so let's hope for a good teacher! We already have 2 (and maybe one more) sucky teachers.. we can't possibly be so unlucky!

ppl!! how are you guys these days?
haha, just met siyun, shueli, yiwei and ruihong yesterday.. as they came over to vj to support the soft ball team.. I was so happy!!
em, have known tmr is your last day for school and enrichment week is coming!! I'm so jealous now.. as I still need to have school next week.. anyway, enjoy urselves!!

I am so damn bored. Its 1030pm on a nice cloudy thursday night, fine so I dont know if its cloudy or not outside, but I do know its thursday night now, I've finished my maths tutorial (Of course I did, I'm studious remember), my dad has screwed me for not getting full marks for the maths test, I've been banging the organ (the uh musical one. not human organs) for the last hour, and now I have nothing to do.

Did I mention I'm terribly bored?

here's a kind reminder to do ur eh, indemnity form or however its spelled or pronounced, the form for the sabbaticals. My parents were like going O.o wth is beatbox. Ah well.
